Boardwalk at Ocean City, MD.

M’s fondest childhood memories were at this stretch of the famous boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. It held three specific shops, each with a special meaning to her and her family: her late Mom’s favorite frozen custard, the souvenirs and trinkets that M and her sister used to always get lost in, and the funnel cakes to end their adventures on.

M had sent us these two reference photos, as well as the above rough sketch of what she wanted her Pocket Spot to entail. We were then off to the races: stumbling down an unadvisable number of internet rabbit-holes, hyperfixating on the smallest details, scaling dimensions, picking up some circuitry knowledge, and creating.
